Efficient Multitask Scheduler for Heterogeneous Workloads with Varying Instruction Counts
...Show More Authors

Multitasking systems need an efficient scheduling mechanism that minimizes the usage of resources and utilizes the system for improved output. This paper proposes an innovative scheduling framework that optimizes the distribution of resource allocation for tasks of different lengths that are run in shared computing environments. The integrated scheduler uses static and dynamic scheduling strategies for optimizing time performance and resource management. Static evaluation of the analytic process entails collection of task metrics, such as the frequency of instructions and the durations of runtime. The evaluation results demonstrate the formation of the initial scheduling framework. The frameworks perform execution dynamic optimizations t

Internet of Things Software-Defined Network Intrusion Detection Dataset: Inter- and Intra-Domain
...Show More Authors

Software-defined networks (SDNs) are extensively deployed in many network configurations. However, the development of new technology presents several vulnerabilities and risks that continue to pose challenges for manufacturers in addressing them. One of the primary obstacles encountered in deploying an intrusion detection system (IDS) is the absence of an openly accessible dataset, especially one obtained from SDN and SDN-based Internet of Things (IoT) networks. This work produces a comprehensive dataset to evaluate the effectiveness of anomaly-based IDSs in detecting inter- and intradomain attacks. The dataset comprises 86 features extracted from approximately 40 million records obtained from simulated SDN-based IoT networks captured wi

Autonomous Vehicle Steering-based Feedback Linearization and Sliding Mode Control
...Show More Authors

This study proposes a robust control approach for vehicular dynamic system speed control. The proposed method combines a sliding mode controller with a feedback linearization technique. Considering the high nonlinearity of the vehicle dynamic system model, feedback linearization is used to transform the vehicle dynamic system into a linear system. A Lyapunov theorem is used to approve the stability of the proposed controller. Moreover, a proportional integral derivative (PID) controller with genetic algorithms is used for comparison. The integral absolute error (IAE) is used as the performance comparison index between controllers. Simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve excellent performance with high robustness agai

Violence Prediction Estimation in Surveillance Cameras Using CNN with GAMMA Correction
...Show More Authors

In recent years, the deployment of surveillance cameras has significantly increased to enhance security in public and private spaces. Numerous businesses continue to employ individuals to monitor these cameras. However, unusual and suspicious activities in the video feeds are often overlooked due to the potential for human error. Consequently, manual monitoring of security cameras can be time-consuming and inefficient. This study investigates the application of deep learning techniques, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and support vector machines (SVMs), to predict violence in surveillance video streams. The proposed CNN model is optimised through the utilisation of gamma correction as a preprocessing step to extract ess

Rheological and Thermal Properties of Lubricating Oil Enhanced by the Effect of CuO and TiO2 Nano-Additives
...Show More Authors

The specifications of lubricating oil are fundamentally the final product of materials that have been added for producing the desired properties. In this research, spherical nanoparticles copper oxide (CuO) and titanium oxides (TiO2) are added to SAE 15W40 engine oil to study the thermal conductivity, stability, viscosity of nano-lubricants, which are prepared at different concentrations of 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.5%, and 1% by weight, and also their pour point, and flash point as five quality parameters. The obtained results show that CuO nanoparticles in all cases, give the best functionality and effect on engine oil with respect to TiO2. With 0.1 wt. % concentration, the thermal conductivity of CuO/oil and TiO2/

Comparative Study between Activated Carbon and Charcoal for the Development of Latent Fingerprints on Nonporous Surfaces
...Show More Authors

For criminal investigations, fingerprints remain the most reliable form of personal identification despite developments in other fields like DNA profiling. The objective of this work is to compare the performance of both commercial charcoal and activated carbon powder derived from the Alhagi plant to reveal latent fingerprints from different non-porous surfaces (cardboard, plain glass, aluminum foil sheet, China Dish, Plastic, and Switch). The effect of three variables on activated carbon production was investigated. These variables were the impregnation ratio (the weight ratio of KOH: dried raw material), the activation temperature, and the activation time. The effect factors were investigated using Central Composite Design

Thermal Conductivity Enhancement of Iraqi Origin Paraffin Wax by Nano-Alumina
...Show More Authors

Abstract

Paraffin wax is utilized for the heat storage applications taking advantage from the high stored latent heat during the phase change (from solid to fluid) period. What isn't right with this procedure is that the wax has a little heat transfer rate because of its low thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity improvement of the paraffin wax has been examined utilizing nano-material with high thermal conductivity. In the recent study, (Al2O3) nanoparticles with weights of 1, 2, and 3% of the paraffin wax were added to the paraffin wax. The Iraqi paraffin wax accessible at the local markets was utilized as a phase change material (PCM).

Many properties of the
