Hydraulic Characteristics and Discharge of Canal Sluice Gate: Practical Approach

Simplifying formulas that are used for calculations and design are the aim of researchers. For present work, the approach to distinguish the flow under sluice gate was conducted in a laboratory. The extensive experimental program was done to collect fifty-four data points for both free and submerged flow conditions. The data included different discharges, gate openings, flow depths at upstream as well as the flow depths represent a tail water and at a contracted section for downstream. The collected data are analyzed according to a problematic that may encounter in the field, to present a more straightforward (but with acceptable accurate) practical features equations and charts. Based on the proposed formulas, five methodologies were introduced as a guide for site engineers and beneficiary farmers. As results, necessary calculations should be followed for the purpose of the successful management of surface irrigation project by an investment of the available water to be delivered with minimizing or preventing head losses to ensure acceptable irrigation efficiency up to the farthest outlets.

Abstract<p>A one-dimensional hydraulic model was conducted to simulate the flow in Diyala River. The research aims to study the flow capacity along Diyala River and especially concerning on reach of the river within Baqubah City during flood seasons by using HEC-RAS, 5.07 software. Experimental investigation of dusty plasma characteristics in AC discharge system

Study of Some Characteristics in Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) System

In this present paper, an experimental study of some plasma characteristics in dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) system using several variables, such as different frequencies and using two different electrodes metals(aluminium (Al) and copper (Cu)), is represented. The discharge plasma was produced by an AC power supply source of 6 and 7 kHz frequencies for the nitrogen gas spectrum and for two different electrodes metals(Al and Cu). Hydraulic Characteristics of the Aquifer up Al-Khassa Dam Sub-Basin Kirkuk/NE Iraq

DC Glow Discharge Plasma Characteristics in Ar/O2 Gas Mixture

In this article, the effects of the O2 ratio  on the electrical characteristics, including the I-V characteristic curve, Panchen’s curve, and I-P curve, were tested in a sample of O2/Ar gaseous mixture . The sample was produced by plasma-based DC magnetron sputtering with niobium metal as a target material. The inter-electrode spacing value was 4 cm. Study of Rod-Plate DC Discharge Plasma Characteristics at Atmospheric-Pressure

     The characteristics of atmospheric-pressure glow discharge (APGD) produced by rod-plate electrodes are experimentally determined. APGD is sustained by applying a high DC voltage between the electrodes. At atmospheric pressure, the shift from corona discharge to glow discharge is investigated. A rod-plate discharges configuration's volt–ampere properties show the existence of three discharge regimes: corona, glow, and spark. The variations in the electrical field distribution in the various regimes are mirrored in the discharge luminosity. Impedance Characteristics of Pulsed Atmospheric Electrical Discharge in Spherical Plasma Switch

A number of pulsed experiments have been carried out using a high-voltage circuit containing R,L, and C in certain arrangements. A spherical spark gap of steel electrodes was used as a high-current switch operated by a voltage of up to 8kV and triggered in both self-triggering and third-electrode triggering modes. Current measurements were carried out by using both current-viewing resistor and Rogowski coils designed for this purpose.
