The in vitro antimicrobial activity of Thymus vulgaris,Origanum vulgare and
Rosmarinus officinalis water extracts were studied against Streptococcus mutans,
Lactobacillus acidophilus and Candida albicans isolates two of each isolate. All cold water
extracts exhibited antimicrobial activity against all tested microorganisms. The largest zone of
inhibition was obtained against Candida albicans isolates. Streptococcus mutans isolates and
one isolate of Lactobacillus acidophilus showed no effect in 300mg\ml concentration of
Thymus vulgaris extract, while the same concentration of Rosmarinus officinalis extract had
no effect on all Streptococcus mutans isolates and Lactobacillus acidophilus isolates
.Origanum vulgare extract had inhibitory effect in 200mg\ml concentration with (10mm)
diameter against all isolates .This study depicts that the extract of Thymus vulgaris,Origanum
vulgare and Rosmarinus officinalis extracts possess very good antifungal and antibacterial
activities respectively and can be used as a potential source of novel antimicrobial agents used
to cure dental caries.

Five isolates (25%) of Klebsiella pneumoniae were isolated from urine samples. In addition also isolated bacteria were (10) 50% Escherichia coli, while (3)15% Proteus spp., (2)10% Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The ethanolic extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum bark were tested against Klebsiella pneumoniae by using the well agar diffusion test, the alcoholic bark extract from (200 -12.5) mg/ml possessed antimicrobial activity against tested microorganism. At 200 mg/ml, and 100 mg/ml concentrations was diameter of inhibition zone rang from (18-26mm), (14-16mm) respectively, and these results compared to antibiotics Norfloxacin(10µg) inhibition zone (24-30mm), and Cefotaxim (10 µg) (26-27mm) as

All prepared compounds were diagnosed by (IR) and (UV) Spectroscopy. All of those compounds were screened for their anti-microbial activity in vitro. The results show that most of the compounds A, B, C exhibited moderate to good activity against Gram-positive bacteria and the same compound exhibit low to moderate activity on most gram-negative bacte

(Asteraceae) known as marigold is known to have several pharmacological activities and used for the treatment of several diseases as measles, jaundice, constipation and several inflammations. Marigold flowers contain several chemical constituents mainly flavonoids, triterpenoids and essential oil. In this study marigold flowers cultivated in Iraq had been investigated for its flavonoids content. The study revealed the presence of quercetin and kaempferol glycosides and the absence of myricetin glycosides. The flowers were extracted with ethanol 70% fractionated with different solvent and the flavonoids were isolated by preparative HPLC. The isolated flavonoids were identified by measuring melting points, UV, IR,

Different extraction procedures were adopted for qualitative as well as the quantitative examination of the alkaloid extracts, as well as plant crude extract, the best methods for the extraction of the plant materials were applied. Simple, fast and accurate methods like TLC (thin layer chromatography) and HPLC (High-performance liquid chromatography), were used for the identification of the alkaloids (ephedrine) in different extracts of stems E. alata stems. Ephedrine alkaloid was detected in each alkaloids-rich and crude extrac

The present study investigates the relationship between patient satisfaction and dental anxiety, as well as their relation to demographic variables such as gender, age, number of visits, and cultural level. The study was applied on a random sample of dental clinics in Baghdad city with total of (200) patient (108 male and 92 female). Two scales were used in this study, patient satisfaction scale PSS (included 9 aspects, constructed by authors) and Iraqi dental anxiety scale

The results revealed a clear cytotxoic activity of sunflower seeds oil on growth of RD cancer cell line, and the effect was concentration-dependent.
The signification inhibition (P<0.05) was obtained at a concentration of 83.5 and 166.4 μg / ml as compared to control. In addition, the growth of RD cell line was more sensitive to sunflower seeds oil in comparison with the growth of L20B transform cell line. In conclusion, the extrac
The Present study was aimed to evaluate the responses of sixteen species of barley Hordeum vulgar L. cultivated in Iraq against drought stress through treatments of seedling with varying concentrations of Polyethylene glycol (PEG6000) to reach the water stress(-3,-6,-9) in addition to control (without PEG 6000). The results showed variation of barley species in their ability to tolerate the drought stress. For instance, Boraq and Arefat were shown to be the most tolerable species, since their percentage of seeds germination were non significantly affected by the highest water potential (-9) bar, while (bawadi, amal, nor alqadsea and nomar) were shown to be moderately drought tolerable, since their percentage of seeds germ

The aim of current study was to evaluate the activity of bacteriocin that extracted from clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumonia against different species of enterobacteriaceae in both planktonic and biofilm state. The antibacterial activity of bacteriocins (klebocins) from Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates towards diverse pathogenic species from enterobacteriaceae (by well assay method) was demonstrated , however the antibiofilm activity a
