Some Factors Affecting The Stability Of Rutin In Buffered Aqueous Extract Of The Plant Alhagi Graecorum
...Show More Authors

The flavonoid rutin is the main content of the a queous extract of
the Iraqi plant Alhagi graecorum (family Leguminosae) which was
given to patients with different dental diseases and gave successful
results In this investigation , the amount of rutin is determined and was
found to be 4mg/100gm of the dried plant and it is equivalent to
4mg/500ml (0.8mg/100ml) of the mouthwash formula which was
prepared in this study This study reported for the first time the expiration date of rutin
in the prepared formula and was found to be 2.1 years. It also reported
for the first time that the ionic strength, buffer type and buffer concentration had no effect on the hydrolysis of rutin. Photochemical decomposition of rutin was also reported with an
expiration date of 4 months. There was also no significant decrease in the concentration of rutin when kept in a plastic container (where the concentration of rutin be 0.79 mg/100 ml), however, the glass container is recommended The results indicated that the Iraqi plant can be used to prepare an effective and stable mouthwash with a low cost since the plant is
widely distributed all over the country

Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles from Alhagi graecorum Leaf Extract and Evaluation of Their Cytotoxicity and Antifungal Activity
...Show More Authors

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using different plant parts has shown a great potential in medicinal and industrial applications. In this study, AgNPs were in vitro green synthesized using A. graecorum, and its antifungal and antitumoractivities were investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image result indicated spherical shape of AgNPs with a size range of 22-36 nm indicated by using Image J program. The functional groups indicated by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) represented the groups involved in the reduction of silver ion into nanoparticles. Alhagi graecorum AgNPs inhibited MCF-7 breast cancer cell line growth in increased concentration depend manner, significant differences shown at

Investigation the Factors Affecting on Gatifloxacin Eye Drop Stability
...Show More Authors

This research included the study of different factors that may effect on gatifloxacin stability (anew quinolone synthetic antibacterial agent) in its aqueous solution in order to develop and optimize the best delivary of the drug to the eye (as eye drop) with maximum local concentration and minimum systemic absorption and toxicity.Different formulas of gatifloxacin solution for ophthalmic use (0.3%)w/v were prepared in citrate, acetate,citrate/phosphate and phosphate buffers, their tonicity adjusted with suitable quantity of sodium chloride. The effect of different factors that might affectthe stability of gatifloxacin in its prepared ophthalmic solution was studied and determined spectrophotometrically at 287 nm. The results showed t

The Factors Affecting the Absorption of Ozone in Water
...Show More Authors

This study was concerned with using ozone gas in drinking water treatment plant at Ibn-Sina Company. The main purpose of this research is to find the best contactor for ozone unit proposed. An investigation was conducted to study the absorption of ozone by water in two type of absorber. The effects of the process variables (such as height of water column, contact time, and pH) on the amount of ozone absorbed were investigated. Box-Wilson central composite rotatable design is used to design the experimental work for the mentioned variables. It was found that the optimum value of the variables studied was:
i) Height of water column (90 cm)
ii) Contact time (17-18 min)
iii) PH (7 - 7.5)

The Effects of the Aqueous Extract of the Leaves of the Local Plant Eruca sativa on Lipid Profile and Some Minerals in the Blood of Male White Mice
...Show More Authors

Eruca sativa, commonly known as rocket salad, is a popular vegetable to which a wide range of health benefits are attributed. This study aimed to examine the effects of the aqueous extract of E. sativa leaves on lipid profile and some minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, in blood of male albino mice under normal physiological condition. Two experiments were separately conducted, each with eighteen male albino mice divided into 3 equal groups, which included control, treated group (1), and treated group (2) which were orally administrated with 0, 0.2 and 0.4 mg/kg body weight, respectively, of the leaves extract for 28 days. In the first experiment, serum lipid profile, including cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL a

Factors affecting the preparation of Cilnidipine nanoparticles
...Show More Authors

Cilnidipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used to improve the neurological outcome following subarachnoid hemorrhage. It belongs to BCS class II drugs that have a low oral bioavailability of 13%, thus preparation as nanoparticles would be expected to improve bioavailability. The aim of the study is to prepare Cilnidipine as nanoparticles using different carriers and co-carriers, concentrations, and types. Cilnidipine nanoparticles were prepared by a solvent anti-solvent method using different carriers (Soluplus®, Poloxamer 188, PVA cold) with co-stabilizers (PEG200, glycerol) at different ratios. Based on the obtained results, formula N4, which included Soloplus in a 5:5:1.19 weight ratio of drug to

Factors affecting the dissipation of pharmaceuticals in freshwater sediments
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<label></label><p>Degradation is one of the key processes governing the impact of pharmaceuticals in the aquatic environment. Most studies on the degradation of pharmaceuticals have focused on soil and sludge, with fewer exploring persistence in aquatic sediments. We investigated the dissipation of 6 pharmaceuticals from different therapeutic classes in a range of sediment types. Dissipation of each pharmaceutical was found to follow first‐order exponential decay. Half‐lives in the sediments ranged from 9.5 (atenolol) to 78.8 (amitriptyline) d. Under sterile conditions, the persistence of pharmaceuticals was considerably longer. Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis was performed to </p>
... Show More

Effect of plant growth regulators on callus induction and Rutin production of Ricinus communis L. plant
...Show More Authors

Ricinus communis L. is an important medical plant hence it contains many active compounds. The aim of this research is to study the effect of plant growth regulators on callus induction and Rutin concentration. A combination of Benzyle adenine (BA) and Indol Acetic acid (IAA) at (0.0,1.0,2.0) mg/L was added to the media, the highest fresh weight of the induced callus from stem explant was (4.97) gr . at (1.0,1.0) mg/L BA and IAA consenquently the same combination gave the highest dry weight of callus (0.42) gr. while the combination at (2.0,1.0) mg/L BA and IAA gave the highest fresh weight of induced callus from Leaves explant (5.28) gr., then (2.0,1.0) mg/L BA and IAA gave the highest dry weight for callus induced from leaves at (0.55

Effect of the aqueous extract of Banana Fruits Peal Musa paradisiaca on Mitosis in Plant and Mammalian cells
...Show More Authors

The aqueous extract of banana fruits peal was tested for its effect on mitosis . The root tips of Allium cepa were used as plant test system and the bone marrow cells of the albino mice Mus musculus were used as mammalians test system in vivo .Root tips of Allium cepa were treated for four hours with five concentrations of the extract (5 , 10 , 20 , 40 ,60 mg / ml.).The Metaphase was arrested in all the treatments , the highest percentage ( 100 % ) was recorded in the first concentration , the last concentration caused stickiness and clumping of the chromosomes. The treatments did not cause significant difference in the mitotic index. The peals extract (5 mg /ml) was compared with the extracts of fruits bulb, leaves and r
