Background:- Colorectal carcinoma is the most common cancer after the breast cancer in female and bronchus cancer in male. P53 is a tumor suppressor gene, approximately half of colorectal cancers present mutation in p53 gene.
Objectives:- To determine the frequency and the pattern of p53expression in colorectal carcinoma by immunohistochemical technique and to correlate this expression with different clinicopathological parameters.
Materials and methods:-Thirty cases of colorectal carcinoma were included in this study, these cases were diagnosed in private pathology laboratories in Baghdad / Iraq from January 2015 to Jaune 2015. Clinicopathological parameters such as age , gender , pathological diagnosis , including the tumor site , lymph nodes status , grade and stage of tumor were taken from patients files.Sections of 4μm stained by hematoxylen and eosin stain and immunohistochemical stained for p53.
Results: Nineteen (63.3%) of the cases were males, 11(36.7%) cases were females, with age distribution ranging from (39-89) years with a mean age of 56.5 years . Ten cases(33.3%) located in the cecum , 3(10%)cases from each right colon , sigmoid 8 (26.7%) cases were from left colon and 6(20%) cases were from the rectum. Histologically the tumor grade range from moderately differentiated in 27 (90%) cases, and poorly differentiated in 3 (10%) cases. Regarding pathological staging (TNM system),2 (6.7%) cases were T2 ,24 (80%) were T3 , 4(13.3%) cases were T4. Lymph node involvement found in 14(46.7%) cases, and distant metastasis was found in 3(10%) cases. P53 expression was present in 11(36.7 %) cases, were distributed as follows:- weak in 1(3.3%) case, moderat in 3(10%) and marked in 7(23.4%) cases. There was no correlation between p53 expression and the clinicopathological parameters age , sex , histopathological grade, location , lymph nodes status and tumor stage.
Conclusion: There was no significant statistical correlation between P53 expression by tumor and different clinicopathological parameters in this study
Background: The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) relates to the torch virus family and is believed to have a substantial impact on mortality and perinatal events, as shown by epidemiological and viral studies. Moreover, there have been documented cases of EBV transmission occurring via the placenta. Nevertheless, the specific location of the EBV infection inside the placenta remains uncertain. Methods: The genomic sequences connected to the latent EBV gene and the levels of lytic EBV gene expression in placental chorionic villous cells are examined in this work. A total of 86 placentas from patients who had miscarriage and 54 placentas from individuals who had successful births were obtained for analysis. Results: The research employed QPCR to dete

The rapid environmental changes led to increased demand on the ERP systems, which have changed the manual effort to technology-based processes, providing solutions focusing on the integration of all departments to achieve goals for the entire organization. HRM processes are mainly made up of two classes: strategic and operational HRM. An ERP system works to integrate both of them, making HRM processes more efficient, effective and feasible to provide support to the organization as a whole (inside and outside). In this article, a modest framework is proposed to describe HRM process integrity in relation to

It affects approximately 16.5% of pregnancies worldwide (Plows, et al.[2]). The placenta is an organ that connects the mother and her fetus during pregnancy (Gul, et al.[3]). In the placenta, glucose can be transformed into glycogen for storage by either glycogen synthase or using glycogenin as a prime. However, the function of glycogen deposition stays a matter of debate, it may be the source of fuel for placenta itself or the storag

The current research is directed to see if AgNPs administration can lead to some changes in expression of BRAF gene in selected body organs tissues. Fifty-six male of musmusculs (Balb/C) mice from the animal house of Al-Nahrain Centre of Biotechnology were used. These animals were divided randomly to seven groups (eight mouse in each group), one of these groups represented the control group, three groups were subjected to different doses of AgNPs (0.25, 0.5and 1 mg/kg of body weight) for one week, and the remaining three groups were subjected to three different doses of AgNP

The purpose of the present study was to focus on the clincopathological features of the oral SCC in different age groups. Material and methods: In this study thirty five cases of paraffin embedded tissue blocks of oral squamous cell carcinoma were studied. The age range was from 16 to 80 years. The clinicopathological data were recorded for evaluating the tumor characters according to age of patients. Results : The age was not significantly correlated to the clinicopathological

Show MoreThe idea of citizenship is one of the old political and legal ideas that have long occupied a wide area of thinking in most countries of the world because the right of citizenship is linked to the identity and cultural reference of human persons of different origins and ethnicities. Citizenship is the equality of citizens irrespective of religious, sectarian, tribal, ethnic, or sexual tinctures. Countries sought to enshrine this right through international conventions, affirmed through the constitutions, statutes, laws, and media of States, to increase the association of individuals affiliated with the State with their national identity and to grant these individuals all their rights under international conventions, constitutions, or dom

The proto-oncogene Her2/neu is overexpressed in 25% to 30% of human breast cancers and frequently associated with tumor aggressiveness and worse prognosis. Examination was applied to detect different HCMV antigens and to demonstrate their correlation with Her2/neu overexpression in breast cancer. The present study includes samples from 70 women of 60 breast cancer patients and 10 normal breast tissues. Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue blocks were obtained from each woman according to ethical approval. Human cytomegalovirus early antigen expression was detected in 5
