The Effects of Preeclampsia On The Enzymatic Activity Of Full Term Placentae:Histochemical Study
...Show More Authors

Background: This study is concerned with the effects of preeclampsia on the availability of the important enzymes in the full term placenta. For this purpose 2 groups of placentae were taken from the full term pregnant women immediately after labour, each group consists of 10 placentae, the first group are those placentae obtained from pregnant women having uneventful pregnancy with no history of any disease or complication (as a control group) while the second group includes those pregnant women having a history of preeclampsia, the results showed significant histochemical changes in the placentae of the second group when compared with the first group, such changes result from syncytial damage and destruction affecting the preeclamptic placentae of the second group, thus loss of alkaline phosphatase enzyme with increase in the amount of the degenerating acid phosphatase enzyme were observed in the placentae obtained from the preeclamptic group. the placentae have been implicated in the pathophysiology of preeclampsia.
Patients & Methods: The specimens were obtained from Al-Batool & Al-Khansaa Teaching Hospital in Mosul between February and July (2006) and studied in the Department of Anatomy,
College of Medicine,University of Mosul. Two groups of placentae were taken from the full tem pregnant women immediately after labour, each group consists of 10 placentae, the first group was obtained from healthy pregnant women (control group) while the second group was obtained from pregnant women with history of preeclampsia (10 patients).
Results: the placental alkaline phosphatase enzyme is very important in trophoblastic transfer mechanism, this enzyme is abundant at term normal placenta. The human placenta contains this enzyme which is produced mainly by syncytiotropholast cells thus destruction of these cells which occurs in preeclampsia will lead to decrease in this enzyme activity and increase in degenerating acid phosphatase enzyme activity.
Conclusion: there is a disturbance in the level of acid and alkaline phosphatase enzymes in the preeclamptic full term placentae.

Study the effect of biosynthesized gold nanoparticles on the enzymatic activity of alpha-Amylase
...Show More Authors

In this paper, investigates the biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) by biochemical method using Myrtus communis leaves extract as reducing agent and Chloroauric acid (HAuCl4) as precursors. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and FTIR were used in addition to UV-visible spectroscopy (UV) in order to characterize the AuNPs. The biosynthesized AuNPs exhibited inhibitory effects on alpha amylase and alkaline phosphatase in sera of patient with type 2 Diabetes Miletus and the sera of healthy control subjects; the inhibition percentage with alpha amylase was 72 % and 45 % for patient and control group respectively. Oral consent obtained from the most of patients and healthy subjects before them being under

Electron Microscopic Study of the Effects of Preeclampsia on the Placental Endothelial Cells Ultra Structures during Pregnancy
...Show More Authors

Background: Preeclampsia occurs in 3-5% of
pregnancies and is a major cause (12-20 %) of
maternal mortality in developed countries. It is the
leading cause of preterm birth and intra-uterine
growth restrictions (IUGR).
Objective: The study was designed to determine and
demonstrate the ultra structural changes of
endothelial cells in placenta of women suffering from
hypertensive disease.
Patients & Methods: Placental samples were
obtained from two groups of pregnant women
groups (preeclamptic and normal pregnant women).
The specimens were fixed in 2.5% gluteraldehyde
and preceded for electron microscopic examination.
Results: Placenta of women with preeclampsia has
shown marked degenerative

Respiratory Distress in Full Term Outborn Neonates: A Hospital Based Study
...Show More Authors

Summary:
Background: Respiratory distress remains a major problem post adaptation and one of the most common reasons for admission of neonates to Intensive Care.
Objectives: To study the causes and short term outcomes of respiratory distress in full term neonates and its correlation to mode of delivery.
Patients and Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out on 100 full termoutborn neonates with respiratory distress admitted to Neonatal care unit of Children Welfare Teaching Hospital, Medical City, Baghdad from 1st of April to 31st of August 2011.
Results: Hundred full term neonateswerestudied, 66% were boys and 81% born by cesarean section (elective cesarean sectionin 62%). In both sexes, Transient TachypneaofNewbornan

Influence of Silver and Copper Nanoparticles on the Enzymatic Activity of Soil-Borne Microorganisms
...Show More Authors

Influence of metal nanoparticles synthesized by microorganisms upon soil-borne microscopic fungus Aspergillus terreus K-8 was studied. It was established that the metal nanoparticles synthesized by microorganisms affect the enzymatic activity of the studied culture. Silver nanoparticles lead to a decrease in cellulase activity and completely suppress the amylase activity of the fungus, while copper nanoparticles completely inhibit the activity of both the cellulase complex and amylase. The obtained results imply that the large-scale use of silver and copper nanoparticles may disrupt biological processes in the soil and cause change in the physiological and biochemical state of soil-borne microorganisms as well.

Purification of Fungul Glucoamylase and Study the Effect of Concentration And Thermal Processing on Enzymatic Activity of Starch Hydrolysis
...Show More Authors

Glucoamylase from black Aspergillus niger isolate was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation and sephadex G 200 filtration. A trial for the purification of glucoamylase resulted in an enzyme with a specific activity of 6472 unit/mg protein with 10 times fold. The main goal of the present work was to test this enzyme in hydrolyzing the raw starch. Two substrates were used: corn starch and potato starch 2% (w/v). The effect of enzyme dosage and thermal processing of substrate on kinetics and efficiency of hydrolysis were studied. The results suggested that the glucoamylase activity is increased as the increase of enzyme concentration and the enzyme was sufficiently effective in hydrolyzing tested raw starch, and thermal modification of

Prestressing Effects on Full Scale Deep Beams with Large Web Openings¨: An Experimental and Numerical Study
...Show More Authors

Most studies on deep beams have been made with reinforced concrete deep beams, only a few studies investigate the response of prestressed deep beams, while, to the best of our knowledge, there is not a study that investigates the response of full scale (T-section) prestressed deep beams with large web openings. An experimental and numerical study was conducted in order to investigate the shear strength of ordinary reinforced and partially prestressed full scale (T-section) deep beams that contain large web openings in order to investigate the prestressing existence effects on the deep beam responses and to better understand the effects of prestressing locations and opening depth to beam depth ratio on the deep beam performance and b

Changes in mechanical properties of material as a result of service in different conditions can be provided by mechanical testing to assist the estimation of current internal situation of these materials, or the degree of deterioration may exist in furnaces serviced at high temperature and exceed their design life. Because of the rarity works on austenitic stainless steel material type AISI 321H, in this work, ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardness, and absorbed energy by impact are evaluated based on experimental data obtained from mechanical testing. Samples of tubes are extracted from furnace belong to hydrotreaterunit, also samples from un-used tube material are used to make comparisons between these properti

Semantic Exchange A study of rooting the term
...Show More Authors

The term "semantic exchange" was popularized in Arabic, especially in derivatives, grammatical structures, etc., but it came under different names or terms, including deviation, deviation, transition, displacement, tooth breach, replacement, attention, etc. In the rooting of this term through its study in language and terminology, and among linguists, grammar and others, we have reached a number of results, including The existence of a harmonization between the lexical and idiomatic meaning of the term exchange, and the phenomenon of semantic exchange is a form of expansion in language, and that the first language scientists They had turned to this And studied under Cairo for different names, as noted above.
