Groundwater Suitability for Agriculture using GIS Techniques in the Lower Part of Lesser Zab River Basin
...Show More Authors

Suitability of groundwater for irrigation depends upon many constrains factors, these factors depend upon the dissolved salts during the flow of the recharge of the groundwater beside the aquifer constituents itself, from these factors (EC, SO4-2, Cl-, Na%, and SAR) .The spatial distribution of each constrain factor may show discrepancy from the another, so it is not possible to depend upon one factor. The aim of this work is to present a classification of the groundwater quality for agriculture including all the mentioned five factors, by using Arc GIS which provides tools to serve a purpose to create conceptual model for solving spatial problems. A set of conceptual steps used to build a model for suitability map of groundwater for irrigation. 3D spatial analyst can interpolate the data of each constrain factor into raster. The rasters are reclassified by grouping ranges of values into single value. New output raster represents the value of the rasters after making weighted overlay and after calculating the influence of each constrain factor by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), the final raster shows spatial extent of groundwater quality and its suitability for agriculture. The lower part of Lesser Zab River Basin was chosen to know the suitability of groundwater for irrigation. The final raster shows that there are 4 classes (Excellent-Doubtful), the excellent suitability scattered in a small areas, while the good, permissible, and doubtful distributed on the most parts of the area.

Specification of Actual Evapotranspiration in Iraq by GIS
...Show More Authors

Evapotranspiration (ET) is produced from vegetation transpiration and soil evaporation. The ET measurements must be considered to study water management systems and irrigation (planning, designing and operating). This study is based on USGS (United States Geological Survey) data by the SSEBop (Simplified Surface Energy Balance) model to estimate the total annual amount of ET using ArcGIS software. The ET values were determined for seventeen years from 2003 to 2019. Also, these values for year 2020 were estimated based on the value of the monthly ET for seven months, i.e. until August by summation. The field data of gauge stations spread throughout Iraq for the year 2012 were used to verify the ET values for the s

Agriculture Cadaster Map of Al-Shehimea
...Show More Authors

The cadastral map is very important because it has technical and materialist
specification of the property borders and these maps which are land registration
based on it in Iraq, the problem is an ancient maps and unfit for use, despite its
importance, Therefor the updating and digitize the cadastral map is very pivotal, this
is what we have done in the present work.
In the present work, we have an old cadastral map (as a paper) was made in 1932
with modern satellite image (Quick Bird ) 2006, which has 61 cm resolution for the
same area after. Geometric correction technique has been applied by using image-toimage
method or (image registration ) and after that we get new agricultural cadaster
map and connect the

Hydraulic Parameters for the Euphrates Aquifer in the Southern Part of Haditha district, Al-Anbar Governorate
...Show More Authors

One of the primary goals of any study involving groundwater is to make an exact assessment of the physical properties of the layers containing the water. One of the most fruitful ways to approach this goal is to conduct a pumping test for the aquifer. To make the most use of groundwater in terms of sustainable water management, this study attempts to assess its hydraulic features relative to the most significant aquifer represented in the Euphrates formation. A pumping test was carried out on 6 wells where each well is accompanied by an observation well. Cooper-Jacob and Theis Recovery methods were used to determine the aquifer transmissivity and storage coefficient. The ranges for permeability, transmissivity, and specific yiel

Increase the Intelligibility of Multispectral Image Using Pan-Sharpening Techniques for Many Remotely Sensed Images
...Show More Authors

Pan sharpening (fusion image) is the procedure of merging suitable information from two or more images into a single image. The image fusion techniques allow the combination of different information sources to improve the quality of image and increase its utility for a particular application. In this research, six pan-sharpening method have been implemented between the panchromatic and multispectral images, these methods include Ehlers, color normalize, Gram-Schmidt, local mean and variance matching, Daubechies of rank two and Symlets of rank four  wavelet transform. Two images captured by two different sensors such as landsat-8 and world view-2 have been adopted to achieve the fusion purpose. Different fidelity metric like MS

An evaluation of waste and well water quality for agriculture production around Erbil city, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Erbil city is located in the northern Iraq with a population of over one million people. Due to water crises farmers usually use wastewater and well water for the agricultural production. In this study six stations were designed to sample waste water and three from well water to define waste water and ground water characteristics. In this study, Residual Na+ Carbonate, Mg++ hazard, salinity hazard, Kelley index, %sodium, total hardness, permeability index, potential salinity, sodium adsorption ratio, and Irrigation Water Quality Index (IWQI) were determined. The order of average cation concentrations in water was Mg2+> Ca2+ > Na+ > K+. While the proportion of main

Robust Watermarking Scheme for GIS Vector Maps
...Show More Authors

With the fast progress of information technology and the computer networks, it becomes very easy to reproduce and share the geospatial data due to its digital styles. Therefore, the usage of geospatial data suffers from various problems such as data authentication, ownership proffering, and illegal copying ,etc. These problems can represent the big challenge to future uses of the geospatial data. This paper introduces a new watermarking scheme to ensure the copyright protection of the digital vector map. The main idea of proposed scheme is based on transforming  the digital map to frequently domain using the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) in order to determine suitable areas to insert the watermark data.

IoT System on Dynamic Fish Feeder Based on Fish Existence for Agriculture Aquaponic Breeders
...Show More Authors

Maintaining and breeding fish in a pond are a crucial task for a large fish breeder. The main issues for fish breeders are pond management such as the production of food for fishes and to maintain the pond water quality. The dynamic or technological system for breeders has been invented and becomes important to get maximum profit return for aquaponic breeders in maintaining fishes. This research presents a developed prototype of a dynamic fish feeder based on fish existence. The dynamic fish feeder is programmed to feed where sensors detected the fish's existence. A microcontroller board NodeMCU ESP8266 is programmed for the developed h
