Biological activity of some plants extract against in the survival of rate adult Oryzaephilus surinamensis (Coleopteran Silvanaidae)

A laboratory study was conducted to evaluate the effect of crud extracts from seven plant species (Nigella sativa, Eugenia caryophylota, Corianderum sativum, Piper nigrum, Peganum hermala, Achillea santolina, Citrullus colocynthis) belong to different families tested as food feeding toxicity against adult of Oryzaephilus surinamensis. The results of the current study showed that hexane extracts from all plants used were more influential in all used concentrations than, the alcoholic extract, and hexane extract of Hanzal was more effective reaching survival rate of adult to 58.3% at concentration of 10% then the plant yarrow and black pepper about 66.2%, and 67.3% respectively, at the same concentration. While the survival rate was approximate in black bean, cloves, and rue at the same concentration 76.4%, 71.3%, and 77.3%. Respectively. The alcoholic extract of Hanzal was less effects on the survival of the adults it 70.0%, while the coriander plant least in fluently of all plants used in the study, as were 80%. In additional to the toxic action and anti-fed ant effect, preliminary results indicated that many of plant extracts have potential in giving good protections of stored plant from attacking by insect, they are indigenous and many be safe and readily available to protection granaries from attacking by insect pestes.

Biological control of saw toothed beetle Oryzaephilus surinamensis(L.)Using fungi Lecanicillium lecanii(Zimm.)

This study is conducted to determine the effect of pathogenicity of the fungus Lecanicillium lecanii in some aspects of life of the insect saw toothed beetle Oryzaephilus surinamensis L. (Coleoptera: Silvanidae) under laboratory conditions with three concentrations of spores and mildew commentator (1 × 103, 1 × 105, 1 × 107) spore / ml , on eggs and larvae second phase of the insect .The study also includs the effect of the fungus concentrations of germination on rice (jasmine) by using direct spray treatment. The results show great fungus efficiency in the control of some aspects of life of the insect, where varied efficiency depends on the concentration of spores, The highest percentage loss of eggs is 63.33% at a concentration

Biological activity and protease inhibitor from watery extract of lentil (Lens culinaris) against some bacterial species

Biological activity substances was investigated in watery extract of lentil which found to contain phenols, tannin, saponins and resins while, flavons, terpens and steroids were not exist in the extract details explained that 5%, 10% of lentil extract largly inhibited the growth of Psedumonas aeruginosa then Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis. The growth of both Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhimurium were slightly affected by all extract concentration. Extracellular protease were screened in all bacterial species under study. Complete inhibition was achieved for extracellular protease while different percentage of protease inhibition were seen for intracellular proteases.

In vitro Scavenging Activity of Rosemary Extract and its Activity Against Some Pathogenic Microorganisms

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) is one of the most economically important species of the family Lamiaceae. Rosemary extract was examined by applying 2.2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging assays. The result proved that rosemary extract had a higher antioxidant activity by absorption at a wavelength of 517a nm by using three different concentrations (0.5, 1.0 and 3) mg/ml which performed the absorbance at (2. 314, 0. 211 and 0.296) nm in comparison with control (21.8, 92.2 and 90) nm respectively. Results obtained using chemical detection of the phytochemicals indicated the presence of flavonoids, phenols, saponins, Steroids and cardiac in rosemary water extract. Water extracts of R. officinalis leaves were inves

Ecofriendly Control for Stored-Product Pest, Oryzaephilus surinamensis (Order: Coleoptera, Family: Silvanidae)

Dates are considered one of the most important foods consumed in Arab countries. Dates are commonly infested with the sawtoothed grain beetle, Oryzaephilus surinamensis. Consequently, the date yield, quantity, and quality (economic value and seed viability) are negatively affected. This study was designed to investigate the effectiveness of air evacuation as eco-friendly and safe control method against adult O. surinamensis. Insects were obtained from the infested date purchased from a private store in sakaka city, Aljouf region, Saudi Arabia. Air evacuation (using a vacuum pump) and food deprivation were applied to O. surinamensis, and insect mortality was observed daily in comparison with the control group (a

Studying the Biological Activity of Some Oxazepine Derivatives Against Some G(+) and G(-) Bacteria.

The preliminary test of the compounds N [2– (3,4–dimethoxy nitrobenzene oxazepine– 2,3–dihydro–4,7–dione]–5–mercupto–2–amino–1,3,4–thiadiazol [A] and N [ 2–anthralidene– 5– ( 2–nitrophenyl ) –1,3–oxazepine–4,7–dione–2–d](5–mercapto–1,3,4–thiadiazole–2–amin) [B] , showed that they possess high activity against some positive and negative bacteria , like pseudomonas aeruginosa (pseudo.), Escherichia coli (E-coli), staphylococcus aureus (sta.) and Bacillus subtilis (Ba.) and finally there is a study of the effect of some antibiotics like streptomycin (S), gentamycin (GN), chloramphenicol (C) and Nalitixic acid (NA) in order to compare the differences in effects. In the present study, results

Antibiofilm activity of klebocin crude extract against some species of Enterobacteriaceae

Bacteriocins are antibacterial proteins created by bacteria and its effective against   other strains of bacteria which are closely linked to the producing strains and a number of species from the same family. The aim of current study was to evaluate the activity of   bacteriocin  that extracted from  clinical  isolates of Klebsiella pneumonia against different  species of enterobacteriaceae in both planktonic and biofilm state. The antibacterial activity of bacteriocins (klebocins) from Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates  towards diverse pathogenic species  from enterobacteriaceae (by  well assay method) was demonstrated , however   the antibiofilm activity a

Evaluation of Antimicrobial Activity of Plants Extract Against Bacterial Pathogens Isolated from Urinary Tract Infection among Males Patients

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a considerable problem aecting the health of people each year. It is caused by various Gram-positive (G+ve) and Gram-negative (G-ve) pathogens. It is an important illness in the world aecting all age groups across their life span. Objectives: To identify the most common aerobic bacteria that cause UTIs and their antibiotic susceptibility and antimicrobial activity of plant extracts of the males' patients. Materials and methods: The study involved 35 midstream urine samples from the male students (University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq) with suspicious symptoms of UTI, during the period from January-March 2018. Each urine sample was cultured rst on Mannitol Salt Agar and MacConkey agar plates to dierentiate
