This study aims to determine whether the divergence between context-free and context-sensitive emoji sentiment scores can serve as a complementary signal for sarcasm detection in Arabic. This phenomenon has received little systematic attention so far. To address this aim, we conducted a multi-scale empirical investigation. At the lexicon level, we compared 1,031 overlapping emoji from two Arabic sentiment resources: the context-sensitive Arab-ESL, derived from 144,196 tweets, and the context-free CF-Arab-ESL, annotated by 53 native speakers across seven Arab regions. At the corpus level, we examined the divergence pattern in a stratified random sample of 199,999 tweets drawn from the 1,414,523-tweet TEAD collection. At the task level, we developed a divergence-augmented transformer architecture by concatenating eight cross-lexicon features with the [CLS] representation produced by three Arabic BERT encoders: MARBERT, AraBERTv2, and CAMeLBERT. We evaluated it on the ArSarcasMoji dataset of 24,630 samples across five random seeds. The results indicate that only 56.8% of overlapping emoji maintain consistent sentiment labels across the two annotation paradigms (W = 91,029, p = 2.44× 10-74, Cohen's d = 0.656). The corpus-level analysis confirms that context-free scores are systematically more positive than their contextual counterparts (d = 1.124, p < 10-300). At the classification level, the divergence-augmented MARBERT achieves the highest mean F1-sarcasm of 0.5234 ± 0.015 across five random seeds, compared with 0.5149 ± 0.017 for the text-only baseline, and the augmentation produces a directionally consistent gain across all three encoders. Ablation analysis shows that continuous divergence scores contribute most of this improvement, whereas binary irony-risk indicators tend to introduce noise at low prevalence. The findings establish cross-lexicon emoji sentiment divergence as a measurable and pervasive feature of Arabic digital discourse, and indicate a modest but directionally consistent benefit when the divergence signal is supplied as a complementary feature for downstream sarcasm detection. A controlled emoji-aware comparison further shows that retaining emoji as input tokens allows encoders whose vocabularies cover emoji to recover the dataset construction rule almost perfectly (F1-sarcasm up to 0.998), which establishes the emoji-token-free protocol adopted here, in which no raw emoji tokens reach the text encoder while emoji-derived lexicon features are retained, as the methodologically sound setting for this corpus.
The article is devoted to football lexicon in Arabic and Russian. The charr acteristics that determine the coincidence of lexical units in the Arabic and Russian languages are revealed. Football related words and phrases exist in different languages and in most cases they are the same. With the develop ment of football in the world and thanks to the media, new words and terms have become firmly established in the language. In Arabic, Italian and Span ish words are often used, but there are original Arabic phrases, most often consisting of two words - sports journalists and commentators actively use them. The word »mercato« was borrowed from the Italian language; in addi tion, in the Arabic language there is a phrase »Bab al-inti
... Show MoreSentiment analysis refers to the task of identifying polarity of positive and negative for particular text that yield an opinion. Arabic language has been expanded dramatically in the last decade especially with the emergence of social websites (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.). Several studies addressed sentiment analysis for Arabic language using various techniques. The most efficient techniques according to the literature were the machine learning due to their capabilities to build a training model. Yet, there is still issues facing the Arabic sentiment analysis using machine learning techniques. Such issues are related to employing robust features that have the ability to discrimina
... Show MoreSentiment analysis is one of the major fields in natural language processing whose main task is to extract sentiments, opinions, attitudes, and emotions from a subjective text. And for its importance in decision making and in people's trust with reviews on web sites, there are many academic researches to address sentiment analysis problems. Deep Learning (DL) is a powerful Machine Learning (ML) technique that has emerged with its ability of feature representation and differentiating data, leading to state-of-the-art prediction results. In recent years, DL has been widely used in sentiment analysis, however, there is scarce in its implementation in the Arabic language field. Most of the previous researches address other l

Based on the general theory of abbreviation by Shapovalova (2018) and subsequent typological studies. Abbreviations occupy a significant place in the modern Russian language, especially in official business, scientific and journalistic styles. However, when translating these units into Ara-bic, translators face a number of linguistic and cultural difficulties that require special strategies and adaptation [5, с. 2]. The relevance of this topic is that ab-breviations and acronyms are an integral part of publications / works that require saving printing space. Reasonable

... Show MoreOnline social networks play a central role in information diffusion and opinion formation, making the identification of meaningful communities essential for understanding collective behavior. However, most community detection methods rely primarily on network topology and remain insensitive to the semantic and affective information embedded in user-generated content. To address this limitation, this study proposes a content-enriched community detection framework that integrates structural interactions (retweets and mentions) with topic- and sentiment-based attributes. The proposed approach includes two core methodological components: a learnable edge-weighting mechanism that infers interaction strengths from structural, topical, and sentime
... Show MoreRecently, the phenomenon of the spread of fake news or misinformation in most fields has taken on a wide resonance in societies. Combating this phenomenon and detecting misleading information manually is rather boring, takes a long time, and impractical. It is therefore necessary to rely on the fields of artificial intelligence to solve this problem. As such, this study aims to use deep learning techniques to detect Arabic fake news based on Arabic dataset called the AraNews dataset. This dataset contains news articles covering multiple fields such as politics, economy, culture, sports and others. A Hybrid Deep Neural Network has been proposed to improve accuracy. This network focuses on the properties of both the Text-Convolution Neural
... Show MoreAnalyzing sentiment and emotions in Arabic texts on social networking sites has gained wide interest from researchers. It has been an active research topic in recent years due to its importance in analyzing reviewers' opinions. The Iraqi dialect is one of the Arabic dialects used in social networking sites, characterized by its complexity and, therefore, the difficulty of analyzing sentiment. This work presents a hybrid deep learning model consisting of a Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and the Gated Recurrent Units (GRU) to analyze sentiment and emotions in Iraqi texts. Three Iraqi datasets (Iraqi Arab Emotions Data Set (IAEDS), Annotated Corpus of Mesopotamian-Iraqi Dialect (ACMID), and Iraqi Arabic Dataset (IAD)) col
