at evaluating the performance of students of Artistic Education Department in the skill of writing simple kufi script


 
Abstract

The research aims at evaluating the performance of students of Artistic Education Department in the skill of writing simple kufi script.This can be done by:- 1- Evaluating the curriculum according to its aims. 2- Teaching students the skill of writing the simple kufi script through the instructional Unit. To achieve the aims of the research, the researcher has put the following null hypothesis:- There are no significant differences in the degrees of the experimental group in their performance in the contents of the skill pre & post tests. This is measured by performance evaluation list. The sample of the test has been chosen from pre-graduation students of Artistic Education department / College of Fine Arts for the year 2010-2011.Thirty students have been selected randomly from the population which consists of 65 students. A descriptive & an experimental methods have been used in designing the research's Procedures which has one experimental group with pre & post test. To draw the conclusions of the research, the researcher has used Pearson Correalation To find the validity of the test. T-test has been used to stets and Holsty Formual has been used to check the validity of skill performance evaluation's list. To show the reliability coefficients, copper formula has been used. The conclusions of the research can be summaries as follow:- 1- The instructional unit has given an ability for students to learn the skill of writing the simple kufi script. This can be realized from the results of pre & post tests. 2- Learning is done gradually from tha simple to the difficult items. This is confirmed by (can nigh & Burges who state that learning can be done as organ iced and serial steps derived from instructional unit. The researcher has suggested some recommendations as:- 1- Adopting the instructional unit in teaching students the skill of writing the simple kufi script. 2- Teaching" The simple kufi script" in the first term & Ruqa,au for the second Term.
